At Bishmizzine High School, we recognize that each student learns in a unique way and at their own pace. As Jane Bluestein wisely states, "If they don’t learn the way you teach, teach the way they learn." Understanding this, we have established a Learning Support Department to support students with learning difficulties and disabilities by integrating them into regular classroom settings.
The objective of our program is to assist students in reinforcing their academic skills and ensuring their continued growth. This support is provided through the involvement of a special educator in the classroom or through pullout sessions at a dedicated special learning center. To facilitate this, we make necessary modifications to the curriculum, lesson plans, exams, and homework, tailoring these elements to meet the individual needs of our students, helping them grasp academic concepts and acquire essential skills.
Our multi-disciplinary team, which includes a speech therapist, a psychomotor therapist, and a special educator, collaborates to help students overcome their challenges, ensuring that they have the resources and support needed to succeed in their educational journey.
